Artist Statement
I've seen many cloudy days and the sun appear from no where; this is the template I use for every artistic image I create. I go to my dark experiences for inspiration and add a drop of positive with a splash of color. I grow from my inner pains and embrace the wisdom to come.
Pierre R. Cameron
Introducing Pierre R. Cameron an innovative Graphic Artist and Photographer born in 1969 in the Republic of Panama (Central America). In 1989 the decision was made by his mother to relocate to the United States in order to join the rest of her family.
After winning the Harold Washington scholarship from Robert Morris College (Chicago , IL) in 1996, Pierre went on to pursue a degree in Graphic Arts. Today he is the Creative Art Director and Photographer for PRC Designs & Productions a company he started back in 2000. His roster of clients includes the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, Chicago Windy City Black Prides 2002, 2005, and 2006; Dangerous Minds Entertainment, HBO (Unchained Memories Screening Party - Chicago), Opulence Publishing, Inc., Rose Petals Publishing, Sam Fine (Sam Fine Cosmetics), JosDen International Beauty Expo, Northern California Beauty Expo, Sidley Austin, LLP (Chicago); and others. Pierre has also captured the attention of the general public with some of his own creative and self-published works such as Holiday Art 2000 & 2001, The Sleeping Lions postcard series, and the Shadows… after 5 calendar series.
In the earlier part of 2003 he developed PieRo Art Photography as a
sub-division to PRC Designs&Productions with the exclusive purpose of producing artistic images. The first project was the art photo exhibit entitled “Souls Revealed …the last seven years”. This exhibit goes back seven years into the pages of his journals capturing some of the most memorable experiences of his life in Chicago . On May 30, 2004 Pierre was honored with a plaque from FuFu Entertainment, Inc. for his outstanding achievements as an African-American artist in the city of Chicago .
On November 24th & 25th Pierre celebrated another milestone with the release of his very first photography book entitled “D2D” (Dusk to Dawn) This large format book features black & white photography of men from many cultural backgrounds including the United States, Latin America, and Korea. The future is looking brighter for Pierre as he continues to grow as an artist and an individual with a great passion for life and the fine arts.
